The Scholarship Project Overview

MEA started a scholarship program in 2000 to help students in Kerala pursue engineering, technology, computer science, or naval architecture studies leading to a Bachelor's Degree.

We have awarded over 60 scholarships over the past few years. The award is for $500 (revised amount for awards from 2007) per year for 4 years ($2000 in all) provided the awardees maintain the high academic standard set by MEA and is based on a 'merit-and-means' criteria (academic quality and financial need).

Scholarship Applications for 2010 are now open. Last date for receipt of completed forms is September 30, 2010.

The selected students will be contacted by MEA via email and also by post. The students will be required to participate in the MEA Mentoring Program and will have to maintain more than 70% marks every year to be eligible to receive the scholarship award of $500 per year for the next four years.
